The new generation of the Mercedes-Benz CLS was officially presented yesterday. The Stuttgart-branded coupe sedan has evolved in all its aspects, making it a more dynamic and seductive model. Technically it has a new platform, a renewed mechanical line, as well as new and interesting aids to driving. The main point where the generation change was most noticed was in its exterior and interior design. The current Mercedes-Benz CLS suffered from too much sobriety, since its design was inspired by the previous E Class and S Class. However, for this generation the designers of the German brand used what was new in the DNA of the exterior design of the brand, and did not invent much in the interior. On the front, the most striking are the new headlights with Full LED technology and ripped design. The grid seems to have reduced its size, although it is an optical effect, because it has a three-dimensional drawing. Its shape was reversed to integrate with the bumper and the lower air intake. Complete the front a hood with smoothed lines compared to the previous generation of CLS.
The coupe profile of the new Mercedes-Benz CLS looks like it lost a bit of its initial strength. It no longer impresses as much as it did with the first generation of the model, since virtually all sedans arriving on the market today have a similar format. That does not disqualify it to be genuinely a CLS and its basic design traits continue to hold, such as the waistline, the window beams, its wheel arches and generously sized alloy wheels. The ceiling drop, the C-pillar, and the rear window glass shape are there. Of course, access to the rear seats is not your best bet, but that’s something that does not interest the future owners of that car. The back, with smaller and tapered lanterns, prints a more dynamic character to the CLS. Completing this part of the car, a bumper that has two small air vents, a very discreet rear diffuser and two exhaust outlets with chrome edges. Just as the exterior design of the Mercedes-Benz CLS has changed for the better, the lines that shape the interior have gone the same way. As it was in its predecessor, the current E and S Class were the inspiration of the designers, because the basic lines came from there. The main instrument panel data – speed, on-board computer and fuel consumption – all come together on the new TFT screen behind the revamped steering wheel.
This screen is the twin of the one that presides the panel in its central upper part. In it, the driver and the co-pilot can consult the navigator orders, sound equipment, air conditioning and the main driving parameters of the CLS. As with the E Class (and it does not look like it will happen in the new A Class), both screens have a smaller dome to prevent glare and glare from the sun. Just below the central screen are four ventilation outlets with a turbine shape. And continuing as in the E Class, the switches to control the climate control system and key controls for access to the screen next to the warning are located below. Finally, on the central tunnel is located the new Touch Pad and the circular command of the mark to control the main parameters of conduction. The regulation of the front seats, as it happens in other models of the mark, is located in the high part of the doors. Together, and from what can be seen in the photos, the quality is at the top, incorporating materials such as leather, wood and some inserts in polished aluminum. Finally, do not overlook the blue line that runs through the panel and extends through the doors, giving it a modern and futuristic touch. The mechanical line of the new Mercedes-Benz CLS will feature six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. At the time of its launch, the CLS will be available with three six-cylinder engines:
- Mercedes-Benz CLS 350d 4Matic: will produce a maximum power of 286 hp and a torque of 600 Nm, homologating an average consumption of 18 km / l.
- Mercedes-Benz CLS 400d 4Matic: its maximum power will be 340 hp, offering a torque of 700 Nm. According to the homologation data, this second diesel version also announces a consumption of 18 km / l.
- Mercedes-Benz CLS 450 4Matic: This petrol version will deliver a power of 389 hp thanks to its thermal engine with support of a hybrid system of 48 volts EQ Boost. The theoretical consumption in mixed cycle will be 13.3 km / l.
2019 – MERCEDES-BENZ CLS BY BRABUS
The new Mercedes-Benz CLS 2019 is already on sale in the market. The expected renewal of the CLS is already a reality and very soon will join the line with new versions to form a very varied offer and adapted to the new times that run. The truth is that his landing is very recent, but that is no reason for one of the main preparers to have presented his work involving the new Mercedes-Benz CLS. Brabus, a specialist in modifying Mercedes-Benz and Smart vehicles, unveiled a first-ever catalog of accessories for the new generation of Mercedes-Benz CLS. It will still be necessary to wait a little longer to come up with a complete package of improvements capable of modifying from top to bottom the exterior (and interior) image of the German model. Nevertheless, this is a good start. If we take a look at the images below, we realize that the Mercedes-Benz CLS 2019 that has passed through the Brabus facilities is not equipped with any type of body kit. The preparer opted for minor modifications, although not less interesting. Of course, the Mercedes-Benz emblem on the front grille was replaced by that of the preparer. The same thing happens in the rear.
Brabus offers a variety of alloy wheels available in sizes 20 and 21 inches. Some of the wheel designs feature a certain retro component and do not leave the brakes visible, since they almost completely cover the entire interior of the wheels. In relation to the passenger compartment, there are equally remarkable innovations. The first thing you notice when you enter the interior is the plates on the door sills with the name of the backlit preparer. New carpets with the Brabus logo are also available. Another curious detail are the new toyota tacoma car covers for the locking pins of the doors. The new Mercedes-Benz CLS is available with two engines, one diesel and the other petrol. In the first case it is a 2.9-liter block with 286 hp and 600 Nm, and in the second a 3.0-liter engine with 367 hp and 500 Nm with EQ Boost function. Both engines are six-cylinder and are associated with a 4Motion all-wheel drive system and an automatic transmission.
2019 – MERCEDES-BENZ eSPRINTER
The new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is already a reality. As expected, the third generation of the well-known German commercial vehicle was revealed at an event organized by the company itself. More technological, efficient, secure and connected, so is the new Sprinter with which the German manufacturer intends to continue captivating the professional public. With the change of generation comes important news, and one of them is directly related to sustainable mobility. During these last weeks, while we showed several anticipations of the new Sprinter, we commented that besides a new line of more efficient diesel engines, the new generation would debut a totally electric version. This is the new Mercedes-Benz eSprinter 2019. After the arrival of the Mercedes-Benz eVito, it’s time for its ‘big brother’ also to be electrified. Mercedes-Benz plans to offer electric versions of each of its commercial vehicles, so that after the arrival of the Mercedes-Benz eSprinter, it will be the turn of the Mercedes-Benz eCitan. The Mercedes-Benz eSprinter has a purely urban focus, where you can move with ease in the delivery and transport of all kinds of goods and benefit from all the advantages of using a zero emissions engine.
The German brand also notes that the Mercedes-Benz eSprinter will be able to adapt perfectly to the fleets of companies operating within major cities. In addition, its autonomy (which has not been disclosed for now) will adapt to the conditions of daily use. Especially by the weight of the cargo being transported at any moment. For the time being, no photos of the interior of the Mercedes-Benz eSprinter have been released. The images that are shown below correspond to the model with diesel engine, but they serve to have an idea of all the technological equipment that will arrive with this pure electric van. One of the most relevant equipment will be the new MBUX infotainment system, which can be operated through a large panoramic touchscreen. It will offer access to a new series of online systems and new connectivity options. In addition, the new Mercedes-Benz eSprinter will also be equipped with a large number of driver assistance systems that first came on the line with this third generation. Range maintenance, emergency braking assistance, blind spot warning and driver alertness are some of them. In this way, the professional that uses the van daily can enjoy a more pleasant and safe driving.
Without elaborating, during the presentation of the new Sprinter, Mercedes-Benz staff have confirmed that their 100% electric version will reach the dealerships of the brand sometime in 2019.
2019 – MERCEDES-BENZ G 500 AMG LINE
Although the new generation of the Mercedes-Benz G Class does not reach the dealers until next May, we are gradually getting to know the aspect shown by the iconic German all-terrain in different configurations since it debuted at the 2018 Detroit Motor Show. We recently showed the details of the Night package , and now the new G Class presents a more sporting and dynamic image. We can already take a look at the first images of the Mercedes-Benz G Class in its AMG Line finish. This finish will position itself as an interesting option for drivers seeking a more sporty image for the German all-terrain, but without the extreme extremes that will have the future Mercedes-AMG version coming soon to the market. If we look at the exterior of the new G Class AMG Line we realize that different specific details appear in both the front and the rear. It also has the strongest and strongest wheel arches, plus some brushed aluminum finishes. In addition, it equips 20-inch alloy wheels and a new sports exhaust system has been added.
Taking a look now at the interior image, we realize that the AMG Line finish is characterized by equipping the new Mercedes-Benz G Class with a flat bottomed steering wheel wrapped in Nappa leather and with a three-spoke design. To this we must add specific rugs and red stitching to the upholstery. The new Mercedes-Benz G Class AMG Line continues to be powered by the 4.0-liter V8 engine with 422 hp and maximum torque of 616 Nm, coupled with a 9G-Tronic automatic transmission and a full-drive system . The new sports exhaust system is expected to significantly change the sound of the vehicle engine.
